Regardless of the project typology, architects and project managers now strive to create spaces that minimize the use of artificial lighting in favor of natural light, all with an emphasis on energy efficiency.

To achieve this, they aim to attain the highest possible Light Reflectance Value (LRV) for the project. The calculation is based on all visual elements of the installation: floors, walls, ceilings, stands, and any equipment that may be present in the space.

The higher the LRV, the more it reflects light, while the lower it is, the more it absorbs light. The orientation of windows and openings also plays a role.

As a result, our sports floors contribute to the brightness of the spaces and factor into the overall LRV calculation of a gymnasium.

Our Omnisports PVC sports floorings offer a diverse selection of LRV values with different levels of clarity, and based on the project criteria, they help conserve energy by reducing artificial lighting.

There is no single rule for choosing the LRV of the floor; each project manager selects the parameters they want to work on for an optimized LRV for the entire project.
